Thyroid Cancer Experts to Speak at 11th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference in St. Louis, Missouri Thyroid cancer experts will present the latest research and advances in treatment at the 11th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference on October 17 – 19, 2008 in St. Louis, Missouri. The conference will be held at the Sheraton Westport Hotel/Lakeside Chalet, 191 Westport Plaza, St. Louis, Missouri. More than 100 sessions will include presentations on the latest medical research, treatment, and long-term follow-up, as well as financial and employment issues, coping with the disease, and discussions with others living with thyroid cancer. ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. (www.thyca.org) is the sponsor. ThyCa is a national nonprofit organizations. The more than 60 speakers will include physicians, dentists, nurses, a pharmacist, 3 attorneys, mental health professionals, and other specialists. In addition, support group discussions will give opportunities for survivors and caregivers to share their experiences and hear from others coping with thyroid cancer. Everyone interested in thyroid cancer is invited to attend. Scholarships for the registration fee are available on request. Attendees may register either in advance (online or by mail) or onsite at the conference. Walk-in attendees are welcome. We plan for continuing education credits to be available to nurses.
